Scripture Union Daily Guide 19 November 2024 Outline

Daniel mourned and fasted for three weeks until he received answers to his prayers. He was obviously praying about the sins of his people. Daniel had always closely identified with his people. When the answer finally came, it was an awesome vision of the Lord (vs.5-6). Notice his reaction in vs.8-9. This is always the reaction when the Lord reveals Himself to someone (compare Ezekiel 1:26-28, Revelation 1:13-17).

The explanation to the delay of God’s answer to Daniel’s prayer is an eye opener (vs.12-13). God answered his prayer immediately, but Satan caused a delay. Do you think this could happen to some of your prayers? God’s answer will always get through in the end. We must not give up. Imagine what would have happened had Daniel given up after a week or two. We have sometimes missed God’s blessings because we have not persisted in prayer. Notice Gabriel’s statement in v.20. The struggle is never over until we reach our home.
